API Developer Experience
A major U.S. bank partnered with us to design a developer experience platform that streamlined API integration, improved documentation, and enhanced usability for third-party developers. The goal was to create a centralized, intuitive hub where developers could easily discover, test, and implement the bank’s APIs, ensuring a seamless and efficient integration process.


Background
A major U.S. bank approached us with an initial version of their API platform and a clear vision: to create a seamless, developer-friendly experience that would make integrating with their financial services effortless.
It quickly became evident that a simple UI refresh wouldn’t be enough. Through research, we identified key pain points—complex onboarding, fragmented documentation, and a lack of intuitive tools—that hindered adoption. To truly enhance the developer experience, we needed to redesign the platform from the ground up, focusing on clarity, usability, and seamless integration workflows.


Approach
Our goal was to create a developer-first experience that streamlined API integration while maintaining the security and reliability expected from a major U.S. bank.
We started by conducting extensive research into developer workflows, identifying pain points in onboarding, documentation, and testing environments. With these insights, we designed a centralized platform that provided clear, structured API documentation, interactive testing tools, and a seamless onboarding process.
Collaboration with the bank’s internal teams was critical. We worked closely with stakeholders to refine the user experience while maintaining the robustness needed for financial applications.
